Isle of Capri, Italy

Capri

Getting ready to head to the top of the mountain through tall weeds, over rocks, gross mud, spiky plants that you shouldnt touch and just straight up climbing. Oh and totally not prepared!

Made it! to the right of me is the castle

Every night there was crazy lightening, Doug happen to catch it!

Cool fish eye night shot

Ciao Ciao...Well we made to Capri on a very stormy Thursday. An hour long ferry ride in the middle of the mediterranean sea during a crazy rain storm was not exactly fun to me! I was freaking out and Doug was calm and weirdly excited about the conditions. We made it though, and it was beautiful here. We wandered around for the afternoon and then took a nap due to the rain. That night was fun, it was a full moon so we ventured down to the beach and got some really good pictures! Then on friday we went to Anacapri - this is the mountains of Capri. The bus dropped us off after an insane, twisty ride to Anacapri town. From there my wild at heart husband decided he wanted to hike to the top of one of the mountains because there was a castle. Barbarossa, a turkish pirate built his fortress here about 800 years ago. Its on private property now so we got close but were unable to go inside. The view from the top of the mountain was breathtaking. I complained about the hike he randomly decided for us but when we made it through to the top...my attitude changed it was amazing and quite adventurous being up there and climbing off the beaten path like we did. We ended our stay in Capri tonight with a wonderfully expensive dinner over looking the sea. Off to bed and preparing for busy Rome!

P.S. Its a miracle to be seeing these pictures! The computer erased them off our memory card and it took a computer guru 4 hours to find them, restore them and copy them to a usb. So the quaility might be funky but we dont care...we are glad they were found!
